It is important to consider the dimensions of your previous microwave and/or range hood when buying a new one. This ensures that the new appliance will fit properly in the designated space. However, if you are installing a new microwave in a location where there was previously none, you need to ensure that there is an available outlet nearby. Microwaves come with attached plugs that cannot be removed making them impossible to install without a pre-existing outlet present. Range hoods must be hard-wired instead of plugged in so an outlet is not required.

Dishwasher have a drain hose and waterline that are joined to your home connections under the sink. To uninstall a dishwasher, the power supply, water supply, drain hose, and water line must be disconnected. A new drain hose and water line will be installed the new dishwasher. After the dishwasher is in place and level, the power and water supplies are turned back on and it is ready to go. It is important that the dishwasher is level because an unlevel dishwasher will leak over time. The installation process usually takes 1-2 hours.

New drain hoses come with the dishwasher because they are supplied by the manufacturer and differ from brand to brand. However, dishwashers do not come with new water lines even though a new line is required to complete an install. You will have to purchase an 8ft stainless steel water line.

Power supply also differs depending on the home. Your home can have a dedicated hardwire that connects to the dishwasher or the dishwasher can be plugged into an outlet in your wall. If your home has a hardwire then that is how the new dishwasher must be installed as well. If your old dishwasher is plugged in and not hard wired, you will also need a new plug. There is an installation kit that includes both the water line and the plug. If you are unsure if your dishwasher is hardwired or plugged in then I suggest buying that kit.

Bosch dishwashers come with plug by default. If you are buying a Bosch and have a hardwired dishwasher, you will also need to purchase a Bosch junction box. If you have granite counter tops then your dishwasher cannot be directly mounted to your counter top. Make sure to look under your counter at the top of the dishwasher to see if there is a piece of wood or a metal bracket there. If you do not already have a metal bracket, you will need yo purchase one.

*All of these can either be purchased with the dishwasher or can be purchased from our company before the install.
